WEEKEND OVERVIEW
The way the weekend is planned - Friday night in San Francisco and Saturday in Glen Ellen - it will work easily and be convenient for you to stay either in San Francisco or in Glen Ellen or Sonoma Valley (or anywhere inbetween for that matter)! It should be noted that, over the summer, most hotels in Sonoma Valley have a two night minimum.
Other than hanging out with us, if you are more interested in being in wine country, exploring the countryside, or making your trip into a getaway then you may want to stay in Glen Ellen, Sonoma, Napa, or around. If you are more interested in museums, cafes, city adventures, and seeing San Francisco, that works too! No matter where you stay - Sonoma Valley or San Francisco, it makes the most sense to fly into San Francisco International airport (SFO), but you can also fly into Oakland (OAK). If you decide to stay in Sonoma Valley, you'll probably want to rent a car at the airport. If you decide to stay in San Francisco then you can rent a car if you choose, but it's not needed as there will be transporation provided to the wedding ceremony + reception from San Francisco.
